A full month has past, but we have little progress to show. The rain has set back the paving of the road. They are really trying to get it done, grading the dirt with farm machines to dry it out faster, only to have it rain again.
Still, we look forward to the paving of the road and the eventual start of construction.
Our house will be located here, pretty much in the middle of this picture.
It begins… April 7, 2013 at 6:16 PM
It all started on April 7, 2013, when we signed an agreement with K&A Homes to build us a new home. This house will be a zero-entry ranch with five bedrooms, a finished basement, three full bathrooms, first-floor laundry, a walk-in / roll-in master shower, and a six-tier dolphin-themed fountain in the back. Okay, I made up the part about the fountain. :-P All of the halls will be extra wide, all doors will be 36″ wide, and there will be a stair lift from the upstairs to the downstairs.
The upstairs features a great room with large windows, a gas fireplace, and built-in shelving. The 9′ ceilings are augmented by 10′ and 11′ vaulted ceilings.
John and Janele will occupy much of the upper floor. The master bedroom features a walk-in closet, and a bathroom with the aforementioned walk-in / roll-in shower. On One bedroom will become Janele’s new Scrungeon (her scrap booking dungeon), while the other bedroom will become John’s computer den.
Downstairs features a large rec room. It is also home for Katelyn and BJ.
The house will be located on Montgomery Circle in northeast Marion. Right now this is a large area of mud. No street yet. We need cooperation from the weather, the city, and the developer to get things started.
Our new home will look much like this house on Raleigh.
